Day 1, Dhaka – Mongla-Sundarbans: (288 Km, 7-9 hours’ drive approx.)
After buffet breakfast at hotel, proceed to Mongla by AC sedan car. Upon arrival at Mongla, we will proceed to Sundarbans by chartered vessel. On way pick up armed guard from forest department. Discover the Karamjal Forest and walk inside through walkway. All meals and overnight on board vessel.
The Sundarbans is a natural region in the Bengal region comprising Eastern India and Bangladesh. It is the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world. The Sundarbans covers approximately 10,000 square kilometres (3,900 sq mi) of which 60 percent is in Bangladesh with the remainder in India.
The Sundarbans is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sundarbans is the world largest mangrove forest. Housing a diverse array of flora and fauna the Sundarbans is home to at least 78 different species of mangroves. Located at the mouth of the Ganges and Brahmaputra Rivers between India and Bangladesh, its forest and waterways support a wide range of’ fauna including a number of species threatened with extinction. The mangrove habitat supports the single largest population of tigers in the world which have adapted to an almost amphibious life, being capable of swimming for long distances and feeding on fish, crab and water monitor lizards.
Day 2, Sundarban- Khulna-Dhaka
On way stopover at Harbaria to feed banana/bread to wild Monkeys. After breakfast, disembark from
vessel and proceed to Jessore airport to fly Dhaka. En-route visit Sixty Dome Mosque (Shait Gombuj
Mosque)-The Sixty Dome Mosque, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a mosque in Bangladesh, the largest in that country from the Sultanate period. It has been described as “the most impressive Muslim monuments in the whole of the Indian subcontinent. The construction of the mosque was started in 1442 and it was completed in 1459.The mosque was used for prayer purposes, Mausoleum of Khan Jahan Ali. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at hotel in Khulna. Upon arrival at Dhaka, transfer to the designated place in Dhaka. The tour will be ended with happy memories.
